STEPS TO ENROLL
Step 1

Admission Process (Full-time students)
(Part-time students skip to Step 4)
Note: If you are currently attending Moraine Valley Community College or have completed an enrollment form or attended within the past year, you do not need to submit an enrollment form.
To enroll, fill out an admission form online, call Registration at (708) 974-2110, or stop by the Admissions Office in the Student Services Center (Building S), S101.
Submit transcripts
Submit all previous high school GED transcripts and college transcripts. If you are currently attending another college or university, have the transcript sent at the end of the semester. Graduate transcripts are only required if needed to show prior college math or English credit.
Each high school or college must mail the transcripts to Records Department, S103, Moraine Valley Community College, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills, IL 60465-2478.
Step 2

Take placement exam
There is a college placement exams requirement for all new full-time students in the subject areas of English, Math and Reading. Part-time students interested in enrolling in an English of Math courses must also complete the college placement exams. To gain an exemption from the required college placement exams, students must submit a copy of their ACT (American College Testing) scores of 20 or higher in English, Math and Reading to the office of New Student Retention (Student Services Center).
It is the student's responsibility to go to the Testing Center, located in Building B, Room B101 for college placement testing. Students will receive test results immediately after the completion of the exams. The placement exam can be taken twice before registration for classes.
Call the Testing Center at (708) 974-5309 for current walk-in testing hours. No appointment is necessary. There is a $8 fee for each test, which will be added to your tuition bill.
Step 3

Attend orientation
Orientation is mandatory for all new, full-time students. Students cannot register until they have attended orientation. At orientation, students will review their placement test results, as well as receive information on programs and services, educational planning assistance and class scheduling.
Step 4
___________________
Register for classes (Full-time students) Full-time students who have completed the previous steps are now ready to register for classes and can do so at the end of the new-student orientation.
Register for classes (Part-time students) Part-time students who have completed their enrollment form and taken placement tests (if applicable) can register for classes in the Registration Office, online or by calling (708) 974-2110. Students can call Academic Advising at (708) 974-5721 for additional assistance.
Several scholarships are offered through Moraine Valley. Visit the financial aid office for more information and applications.
ADDITIONAL STEPS TO ENSURE SUCCESS AT MVCC
Order textbooks. You can purchase your textbooks and school supplies at the Bookstore located in Building D. Bring along your class schedule and school ID. You also can check which books you need, get prices and order your books online.
Obtain a student ID. All students at Moraine Valley who are taking credit courses are required to have a photo ID. Bring your current class schedule and a picture ID (such as a driver's license, state ID or high school ID) to Building S, Student Services Center, Student Street, S100. You will receive your ID immediately.
