English & Communications
Welcome to the English & Communications Department!
The mission of the Argo English & Communications Department is to develop students as stronger readers, writers, speakers, listeners, and thinkers. Through literature, writing, speaking, research, rhetoric, discussion, and analysis, students strengthen the communication and critical thinking skills needed for success at Argo, in college and careers, and in life. Students also develop media, visual, and technology literacy as they learn to evaluate and communicate information effectively.
Our courses offer:
- Essential Communication Skills: Develop reading, writing, speaking, listening, research, and critical thinking skills throughout four years of English.
- Advanced Learning Opportunities: Earn potential college credit through AP English Language & Composition, AP English Literature & Composition, Dual Credit College Writing, and Dual Credit Public Speaking.
- College and Career Preparation: Build research, rhetoric, media literacy, information literacy, and communication skills that transfer across academic disciplines, careers, and life beyond high school.
