Chemistry Jump Hybrid - Class meets on Thursdays & Online

ELL & ESS
ELL basics, 1, 2, 3, or 4
ESS Core Reading/Math (Needs approval from Director of Educational Support Services)
ESS Core Community (Needs approval from Director of Educational Support Services)

ENRICHMENT / ELECTIVE
Identity in Crisis: A Study in 3 American Novels (Class meets on Thursdays)
Digital Photography Basics (Class meets on Tuesdays)
Prep for AP Social Studies Skills (Class meets Mondays 6/25, 7/2, /9)


*Bridge to English & Algebra -- These classes are for incoming freshmen.  They are $40 a session.  They earn elective credit.  They are designed to help students bridge from their 8th grade language arts and math studies to the English and Algebra class in 9th grade.

**English and Math classes are for credit recovery only.

AP Summer Bridge Classes

These free, one-week summer courses are designed for students who wish to take an AP science class but may not have met the requirements. Each Advanced Placement science course (AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics) will have its own Summer Bridge class.

Registration

Starting February 1st, you can register for summer school classes by going to the Online Registration.   

Walk-in registration: Starting February 1st, If you choose to register in person, please be sure to fill out the brochure and bring cash or check to the bookstore between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. 

There are NO Tuition Waivers for summer school.  

All classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis. It is important to ENROLL EARLY because courses will be closed once registration reaches maximum size. In the event enrollment is insufficient, or staff unavailable, tuition will be refunded. Students who think they might fail a class are encouraged to enroll.

Tuition

3-week Courses:

Resident (Within Argo H.S. boundaries): $140 per session

Non-Resident: $200 per session

6-week Courses:

Resident (Within Argo H.S. boundaries): $280 

Non-Resident: $400


Enrichment Courses: $75


ELL Classes: $40 for Resident / $200 for Non-Resident per session


Chemistry Jump Hybrid (10-week Course): $250  


*Bridge Classes: $40 for Resident / these classes are for in-district students only


**There are NO tuition waivers.

Buses

Due to a grant, this year there will be school buses available for in-district students. Information on routes will be posted in the building and on the Summer School web page. Please indicate on the registration form whether or not you will use the school bus.

Attendance

Each summer school day is 5 1/2 hours of instruction. It is important that students do not miss any days. 

  • When a student reaches two (2) absences, the student will receive NO credit and NO refund.
  • Three (3) tardies = one (1) absence

NO Early Finals are allowed.

If a student is going to be absent, a parent must call the attendance voicemail or email blettiere@argohs.net and report the absence. Voicemail is available 24 hours a day.

Lunch

Once again, Argo High School will provide free lunch to all students and residents under the age of 18.  Lunch for students and residents under the age of 18 will be served in the Argo cafeteria.

Lunch Times:

Summer School Students: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Community Residents under the age of 18: 11:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Driver Education

Students must contact Mr. Russ Nowak (Driver Ed Coordinator) to register. Call 708-467-5634.

BTW Driver Education is available to District 217 residents ONLY. Class size is limited to students on a first come, first served basis.
